The Haemodynamics and Interventional Cardiology Unit at HPS avails of the most highly qualified team of professionals that allows for the undertaking of the anatomical and functional study of the heart through the introduction of catheters in order to discover the status of the coronary arteries. It also provides information about valves and permits the detection of malformations of the heart. Furthermore, it makes it possible to place intracoronary devices (stents) and to perform valvuloplasty in order to resolve coronary and valvular problems, respectively.

The electrophysiological study of the heart permits the detection, classification and resolution of cardiac arrhythmias and various disorders of the cardiac electrical conduction.
